The PLUS scale is equipped with a RS232 interface to let you connect it to your personal computer and use its application program. This scale connects to the PC for internet postage calculation. This is compatible to the popular internet postage service providers like stamps.com and endicia.com. You may need to download the driver for the scale which can be freely downloaded from the service provider website-http://www.stamps.com/support/store/downloads/

Listed below are descriptions of data that are sent by the scale.

WEIGHT - consist of 5 ASCII digits in GRAM unit
SCALE BEHIND ZERO ERROR - a flag indicating that the weight reading is behind zero ( negative reading )
TARE IN EFFECT FLAG – this flag indicates the scale’s TARE state.
OVERLOAD FLAG - a flag indicating that the scale is overloaded.

The frame of data is sent by the scale at approximately 10 times per second at 2400bps transmission speed.
